Due to the enormous turnout we have experienced in the last couple of years and the sheer size of the expected fire this year, we feel the need to lay out some ground rules for parking.
At the conclusion of the Parade, the Varsity Football Float (Trailer) will enter the Faltin Field area to serve as the stage for the festivities. ALL other floats/trailers will return to the staging area at the park or at Altgelt Field. Here is the reasoning: We have limited space at the Faltin Field site for parking. With the size of the bonfire and the fact that there are small children running around in the dark, we want to avoid any tragic occurrences. It is simply better for trailers to return to an area more conducive area for parking. We promise to not start the fire without you.
Individual vehicle parking will be allowed on the perimeter of Faltin Field, but NOT ON the Faltin Field grounds itself. This is for your safety, the safety of your family, and likely the safety of your vehicle. There is plenty of parking in and around Faltin Field and it is only a block away from downtown.
These measures are based off experiences we have had in the past and are established to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all. It is imperative that we provide quick and easy access to the Faltin Field site for fire and emergency personnel. This hasn't always been the case in the past. Remember, Faltin Field belongs to Kendall County now and our ability to stage this event can be revoked if we are unable to practice self-governance.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation on this matter.
