April was National Poetry Month, as recognized by the American Library Association, and was celebrated with gusto at Comfort Elementary this year! A variety of activities around campus and lessons in the library culminated with “Poem in Your Pocket Day” (also nationally observed on the April 28th, which also was the due date for entering our school-wide poetry writing competition. These talented students definitely showed their inner poets! More entries are on display outside the library through Friday, May 27th. The winning teacher’s poem, Spring has Sprung! belonged to 5th-grade teacher, Bethanee New.
