Last week, Governor Abbott issued Executive Order No. GA-34, regarding the use of face coverings/masks during the Covid-19 disaster, effective March 10, 2021. Texas Education Agency issued follow-up clarification that the mandate to wear masks will continue for all students, staff, and visitors when on school campuses. Based on this guidance from Texas Education Agency, CDC, and other state and local agencies and feedback, Comfort ISD will continue our Covid-19 safety protocols including social distancing, frequent hand washing/sanitizing, and wearing face coverings/masks.
We appreciate your support and cooperation as we continue our commitment to the safety of our students, staff, and parents!
On Tuesday, March 2, 2021 Governor Abbott rescinded the requirements for face coverings as of next Wednesday. While we are awaiting further guidance from the Texas Education Agency on the decision's impact on schools, we want to get your feedback as we evaluate and re-evaluate our safety procedures. Please respond to the survey via the link below. Thank you so much for your feedback and partnership with our district! https://forms.gle/9dxEVFSY4TmRvjqX8
