Highlights of the CISD Board Meeting - December 8, 2025

Welcome to our monthly School Board meeting newsletter. This edition brings you some highlights of the School Board meeting that was held on December 8, 2025. Our goal is to keep you connected and informed each month.

Information Items

  • Superintendent, Dr. Yvonne Munoz reported on the upcoming CISD Christmas Open House that will be held on December 16, 2025.
  • Dr. Munoz shared information on the 12 Days of Holiday Cheer to help spread the holiday spirit among students and staff.
  • The Superintendent informed the first Facilities Meeting was held on December 2, 2025. Members gave input and suggestions regarding CISD facilities, participated in a tour of the middle school old hallway, and heard a presentation.
  • Dr. Munoz shared information with the Board on the PREP Allotment and the three areas applied for: Residency, Grow Your Own, and Prep Mentorship.
  • Director of Academic Services, Dr. Boothe, spoke to the Board about Results-Driven Accountability (RDA) and overall improvement on composite scores and gains in TELPAS. Dr. Boothe informed the Board that the TAPR report will be released December 18, 2025.
  • Health/Safety/Communications Coordinator, Emily Steffek, gave a report on the 2025-2026 District SHAC meeting held November 17, 2025 as well as the upcoming HCCADA fentanyl presentation scheduled for January 6th. Mrs. Steffek reported to the Board that the District Vulnerability Audit preliminary walkthrough is scheduled for January 8th. She communicated the DAEP doors are being rewired for the True Protection Alarm System and that quarterly Pinnacle drug testing for CDL drivers continues.
  • Coach Rieken informed the Board of the conclusion of football season and the many successful athletes who worked hard and achieved success, including one athlete who made superlative in all district. Coach Rieken gave an update on boys' and girls' basketball and communicated that we will be hosting the 16th team tournament. Powerlifting has about 20 lifters.
  • Jennifer DiGiacinto gave a technology updated and shared that a security camera assessment has been completed, preparations started for new phones and PA system, new network cable is being installed, and the phones were delivered last week. PA installation will be in January.
  • McLemore janitorial services gave an update about the cleaning schedule, the deep cleaning taking place, and how they work to proactively minimize health risks.
  • Operations Director Trent Wilson gave an update on the completion of painting the band hall and technology building. Mr. Wilson let the Board know that a new mower has been received, all route buses were pressure washed, and new playground equipment and shade covers were installed because of the Create Healthy grant. He provided the Board with a list of all completed tasks and workorders.

  • The School Board approved the 2024-2025 Financial Audit Report..
  • The Board approved the Policy Update 126 as presented.
  • The Board selected Pfluger Architects as the architects for the potential bond projects.
  • The Board selected construction manager agent (CMA) as the construction delivery method for potential bond projects.
  • The Board selected Gallagher as the construction manager agent for potential bond projects and to allow the superintended to move forward with contract negotiations.
  • The Board approved the Resolution to Cast Allotted Votes for Kerr Central Appraisal District Board of Directors.
